Every time I see 'Look how much better games look on CRT posts, this is what your childhood looked like' showing closeups taken by phone camera of PVMs with crisp scanlines and shit I wanna die like no that's not what games looked like when you were a kid, that's what cameras see also you didn't have a fucking PVM in your house come on and even if you did you weren't cranking down the brightness to get crisp scanlines as a kid or using RGB lol come on

like CRTs are cool and it's almost a shame...

Some of the kids were grousing about a recent Rev2 Intermediate tournament and the cutoff point for 'intermediate' is and how it's discouraging to get bopped by experienced players in a lower skill setting.

The problem is, this is unavoidable. It's almost impossible to make a clear, good cutoff and players only a little better than someone can give a beating just as discouraging as the best player in the world. Sometimes even a worse beating! So what do you do for a tournament designed to give...

We've all seen it. Some says they're gonna watch something, play something, read something, whatever and someone stops them and goes ohnono before you do this, you gotta do this and this and watch this to have context for this. I hate this phrase. Like okay not all the time -- sometimes you can legitimately miss out on something. A party, a convention, an MMO that died, a super secret limited Movie Screening. But most media isn't so time sensitive and... even if it was?
