Terms

Frontier Lands: The natural, fuzzy borders that exist between countries/cultures due to a shift in magic/technology tolerance. Properly used to describe say, the border between the Free Cities and Bherigan, though you might informally say you're 'out in the frontier' when in the deep, high magic forests of the Free Cities. Also perceptual. People who never left Shiv might think of the Free Cities as Frontier Land. The term is used to a lesser extend in magic leaning places.

Leonese: The major ethnic group, originating from the Leone region of Esperada. A lot of Leonese DNA and Culture finds origins in old world Brazil and Indian heritage. They are characterized commonly with dark skin, light eyes, light hair, and somewhat Aquiline noses, though as with most modern ethnic groups, there is a high level of genetic diversity.

Shivic: The Shivic ethnic group has it's roots in Japanese and Germanic origins. In contrast to the rest of the world, Shiv has kept a worrying degree of value on "Old World" heritage and language. That said, Shiv is an extremely ethnically diverse city, and this antiquated obsession with racial purity has slowly begun to confine itself to the corrupt upper class.

Junketsu Shivic: A Shivic ethnic group of purported pure blooded Japanese descent. While this term is used rather regularly, it is representative of the worrying Japanese Nationalism in the I.S.S, where the term has been pushed by many separatist groups. It is classically seen as a desirable trait, though in recent times, over focus on it has been associated with Far Right Wing politics.

That said, it is virtually impossible for anyone in the modern age to be strictly "pure blooded" and those considered such reflect a very small percentage of the Shivic population.

Konketsu Shivic: A Shivic ethnic group of primarily Japanese descent, but mixed with Germanic and Central European ancestry. While members of the high business society look down on these traits, many Konketsu see themselves as a better, more truthful reflection of Shivic culture and society, representing about half the population.

1 ACE starts on sunday and is the first common year (meaning 4 ACE would be the first leap year). For calculating calenders, 2001 is the easiest to copy, just add to 1995 + the year to get the year for a calender I need to generate)
