Loni's Artificial Bodies

So Loni’s bodies!

Loni’s bodies are of course artificial and enchanted by Sinlen and her family to allow her soul to inhabit and control them. A lot of hard work is handled by the soul. Like with the face, doesn’t need articulation or anything to emote, it just needs the flexibility as the soul binds to the material to move like muscles. Her body even gets warm. This flexibility makes her more body a bit easier too. as she doesn’t need tightly, perfect joints.

Still most of her work bodies are close to Figma or BJDs.

Perhaps with more flexibility for the spine and stuff (perhaps having rubbery cores? But some might have about the same amount of flexibility of one of these. Loni has had many different bodies of different quality as she’s learned to make them, from nicely sculpted ones like these to ones made with crude wood like an artists figurine.

and her earliest heads were probably no better than a wooden puppet. All the bodies she actually uses though use the same quality head – which after years of practice in sculpting and making, is, when inhibited by a soul, pretty much undetectable as anything but human without touching it and feeling the smoother, plasticy skin. While Loni almost always models to reflect her sense of self, she perhaps has a few other different looking heads which can be used when Loni is using multiple bodies to serve guests or something. She forewent bringing one to the beach house because everyone knew what her deal was already and she prefers to look how she feels like she’s supposed to look. Loni has ‘lunges’ for her to breath and talk naturally and she can even eat a little before having to purge her system (since she can’t digest anything). She doesn’t secrete any fluids so she doesn’t salivate or sweat or self lubricate. She has special liquids for that that she say, might drink before eating or kissing someone. Like lube, but also fitting other rules like handling food or tasting right to people kissing her.

The more comfortable Loni is with her body, the better things work and the better she feels. Beth has had fun doing sexual stuff to some of Loni’s cruder bodies and while she can still feel it, the sensation isn’t as strong as it is in her “good “body.

Loni’s work bodies tend to be covered in some kind of rubber and worn with padded clothes so her body doesn’t feel completely unnatural if someone say, grabs her arm, but its still obviously easy to tell when one can feel the ridges and joints on her body.

Its funny to think of Loni’s “good” body as a "real doll" but that’s not giving it enough credit. Loni’s good body has bones and layers of what would be muscle and layers of what would be fat. The goal with her good bodies is to make something that moves like a real human. When she breaths, her ribs flex, when she twists her arms, her ulna and radius twist appropriately. But her good body is frail. The material that makes up her body doesn’t heal. Her feet probably have it the hardest and probably break down and need repair the most. Her hands too. Still, what is happening as she makes better bodies that reduce her dysphoria, her soul starts imprinting. Even with her current best body, its probably much more durable than it would be normally because her soul is strengthening it and its becoming a ‘magic object’. Loni still hasn’t quite figured this out yet and is still cautious about doing too much maid work in it, unless its gentle stuff (she’ll bartend for the girls and serve stuff, but even cooking and stuff she prefer to do with another body with hard rubbery fingers and hands).

Loni’s ‘feel’ is one of her biggest challenge right now. She probably feels super nice to touch, but it doesn’t feel like skin. The upper boundary of how ‘human’ she can get is probably pretty high. Something to allow her skin to blush and sweat (even if she has to absorb the sweat first or something)., bigger capacities for eating and drinking, ability to secrete fluids (even if she has to add them somehow first like topping off the oil in a car), and even, once she really impressed upon a body, healing. Maybe even as crazy as a ‘circulatory’ system’ that just lets ‘blood’ move to her body to lead to the proper blushing and blanching of skin. Maybe she needs a good trip to Shiv to learn about some new materials and processes to help her out.
