Hey guys, a couple of people requested a source release of iwbt fangame, but I'm not doing that the code's too messy =p. Instead I compiled together a basic engine for the game with everything you need to create an iwbtg clone, fangame, or you may just wanna take advantage of the save/load code, the camera, platform motion, or whatever else.
The engine is slightly different to that in iwbt fangame, but the differences are things I learned along the way - stuff I should've done but is now too late to change.

(EDIT: That link should now be compatible with lite versions of game maker, and also the documentation required)

Included is the source file with one new level, and a replicated level from iwbtg (the bit with the awesome megaman music) to compare it with the original. Also, controls.gm6, which is the source for the control-changing program I made, and documentation.doc, which explains how to use the engine in detail.
The player's motion isn't exactly identical - but it's very close, so the jumping and stuff is all good.
Also got (as far as I can tell) flawless moving-platforms, horizontal and vertical moving ones, with some pre-made "fall/rise when the player steps on them" objects too.
It's got a bunch of sound effects and a couple of music tracks.

If you find any bugs let me know! I will happily fix them for ya. Remember to at least read parts 1 and 2 of the documentation before making your own levels!

Let me know about any errors or things that need adding in the documentation - I will modify it for further releases.

In that case you need a registered copy of Game Maker for it to work. I'll have to remove pro-functionality later so people without a key can use it (if that's possible)

Hey tijit, I made a copy that works with lite.
I only removed the blinking effect from the bullets but redid it by adding a subimage, then I removed the image_angle from the blood but it doesn't look so bad.
